Introduction to The Good Earth
The Good Earth was written by Pearl S. Buck, with the setting of the early 20th century in China. It also has two more volumes as the sequel to the rural Chinese story.
The first book was published in 1931 under the title of The Good Earth. The series also won the Pulitzer as well as Noble Prize, for the author in quick succession. The novel proved a huge success after it was transformed into various movies and plays.
