Che a graphic biography series

It’s under a hundred pages, and if you’re just (not to be overly reductive here) reading-the-words-and-looking-at-the-pictures, you could polish it off in an afternoon.

I found, tho, that the “Life of’ portion of the title was true to its word, and when I’d reach another landmark in Che’s life, I’d like to put it down for a day. This, combined with the “impressionistic biögraphy” part of the title beïng fully realized, plus the at-least-as-interesting afterward materiäl, meant this book took some time to full appreciäte.

I came to this book, like Œsterheld’s more famous Eternaut, from matttt’s insightful mini-doc, but while 350 densely-worded pages of Eternaut really demanded the hoürs of reading time, this was a completely different beast.

Like a modern biöpic (so much of Œsterheld is ahead of its time), it plays out with Che reflecting on his life in his last moments, back-and-forth until his (spoiler alert?) assassinatio
