Grethe Fox (195*-). Actress, director and producer for stage, film and TV.

Biography

She is the daughter of the well-known Cape Town architect Revel Fox and the niece of Uys Krige.

At one time she was married to the film maker Manie van Rensburg.

In an interview with Corlia Fourie published in the magazine Rooi Rose in 1999, she relates that she could speak Swedish by the age of three, her grandmother taught her Afrikaans and her parents only spoke English to her which explains why she is so comfortable in the use of languages.

Training

She studied at the University of Cape Town Drama Department and attended the Jacques Lecoq School of Mime Movement and Theatre in Paris.

Career

Worked with CAPAB, The Space, PACT and The Market Theatre.

She founded Fox Films with her brothers Revie and Justin in 1994.

As a student at UCT she had a role in their production of The Fantasticks.
