Dubai police have confirmed that the funeral of Sridevi is expected to be delayed, following forensic requests for further blood tests to confirm her cause of death.

News broke on Saturday evening that the legendary Bollywood actress had died at the age of 54; cause of death was originally thought to be a heart attack but was later confirmed as drowning.

Gulf News states that further delay should be expected in laying the Indian superstar to rest after her post-mortem report proved inconclusive, leaving Dubai forensics to demand a further toxicology report.

The IBTimes India reports that Sridevi’s body is set to be flown back to Mumbai, where she lived, from Dubai where the tragedy occurred once final post-mortem reports are completed.

It’s thought the funeral will be held at the Santacruz crematorium over the coming days.
