Jamaat's Shahjahan Chowdhury is first to report wealth to ACC

Dhaka, Feb 20 (bdnews24.com)- Shahjahan Chowdhury, a Jamaat-e-Islami leader from Chittagong, was the first to turn in his wealth statement to the Anticorruption Commission Tuesday.

ACC listed 50 people, mostly politicians, with ties to corruption and asked them to report to the sleaze watchdog with wealth statements.

ACC director Abdul Wadud told reporters that all have to submit wealth reports by Sunday—apparently an extension from the 72-hour deadline earlier set by the ACC.

Shahjahan, former MP from Satkania, submitted the account of his wealth to ACC director Jahanara Parveen shortly before 3pm.

Shahjahan did not speak to reporters and sped away on a motorcycle.

Haji Selim, Manzurul Ahsan Munshi, Ahmad Akbar Sobhan, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, Mufti Shahidul Islam, commissioner Qayyum, Jahangir Kabir Nanok, Ali Asghar Loby and Mohiuddin Ahamed sent representatives to the commission to know how to reply
